Coastal Adventure Hike
The coastal adventure hike is one of the adventures on offer at Lalotalie. The walk starts from the property of a local matai and leads through beautiful tall trees and rainforests up and over the mountain and onto a large white sandy beach below.

Survivor
Before landing on the beach you pass through a local villager’s property where you will be introduced and stop for a friendly chat. This is a typical example of how rural Samoans live with a small cook house and a larger open living fale. This beach was the location for filming the American TV series, Survivor.

Secluded Beaches
Upon reaching the beach the hike then continues along the coastline towards the east rounding several rocky points that open up to magnificent secluded beaches. All in all the hike traverses along 7 deserted beaches.

Snorkeling
The fourth beach is the lunch spot where hikers can take a swim or go snorkeling and check out the marine life and the deep crevasses and drop offs in the reef.

Matafa’a Village
At the end of the last beach the hike turns inland and back up over the mountain before returning to Matafa’a Village.

All Day Adventure
In total the hike is an all day affair taking up to 8-10 hours. It is a unique, absorbing adventure tour which takes in extraordinary rarely seen scenery and at times can be challenging.

Olsen…
The tour is led by Olsen who is an experienced and wild tour guide, the best adventure tour guide in Samoa. The other tour guides are locals who know the area inside out. Ropes and harnesses are supplied for safety during the rock climbing section of the hike.

Group Bookings
This hike is offered to groups of a minimum of 6 people (maximum 12) and bookings are essential.

Cost
The cost for the coastal hike is $150 tala per person and includes a packed lunch. It requires a relatively good level of fitness and guests need to come prepared with appropriate clothing, footwear, bottles of water and sun protection.
